The domed lid is silver-toned metal with a hallmark stamped along the rim [please verify and note here whether it reads "Sterling" — I couldn't confirm this clearly from the photos]. Approximately 3 inches in diameter.

This style of jar was originally made for a lady's dressing table, to hold face powder, cotton balls, or other vanity items.

Condition: please note a small chip on the interior rim of the glass neck (see close-up photo) — this does not go through the cut pattern on the body but should be disclosed. The lid shows light surface wear consistent with age; glass is otherwise bright and the cutting crisp, with good sparkle. See less
