Impressed oval mark on base: FOUCARD-JOURDAN / VALLAURIS.

Vallauris, in the Alpes-Maritimes, was a major center of French studio pottery from the late 19th century onward. Foucard-Jourdan was among the principal ateliers, known for richly glazed earthenwares in the Art Nouveau and early modernist tradition.

Glaze variation on rim is characteristic of the firing process, not damage.
