Design Plus Gallery presents an Art Deco Cabinet from the 1940's with Glass Gilding or Verre Églomisé. The cabinet is completely covered in mirrored glass with a treatment that appears to be naturally occurring veining on stone drawn onto the reverse side of the mirror. This treatment is called églomisé and named after the French decorator Jean-Baptiste Glomy (1711–86), who framed prints using glass that had been reverse-painted. There are two doors that encapsulate the front view of the cabinet and opens to reveal glass shelving that is modular and also the cabinets wood grain. It is in good condition for its vintage age and use.
