Elevate your entryway with this stunning, authentic Edwardian-era hall tree handcrafted by the renowned British furniture maker Harris Lebus (London, circa 1904-1910).
This isn't just a coat rack; it’s a masterclass in the Arts & Crafts movement. It has been meticulously restored to showcase the spectacular quarter-sawn oak, featuring the rare and highly sought-after "tiger" medullary ray patterns that only appear in high-grade antique timber.
Features & Details:
Provenance: Features the original "LEBUS" stamped brass hardware—a hallmark of quality from Britain’s largest turn-of-the-century cabinet maker.
Premium Materials: Solid quarter-sawn oak with a deep, rich finish that glows in natural light.
The original Lebus-stamped hardware has been meticulously hand-polished to reveal its stunning natural bronze-gold luster. Please note: while two of the original hooks are missing, the remaining period-correct hardware is in beautiful, functional condition, preserving the authentic 1900s aesthetic.
I chose to keep the original stamped hardware rather than replacing it with modern reproductions to maintain the piece's historical integrity.
Functional Design: Includes the original beveled mirror, four heavy-duty double coat hooks, and a spacious flip-top storage bench (perfect for shoes or bags).
Condition: Fully restored. The wood has been deep-cleaned and refinished to a smooth, durable luster while preserving the antique character. All hardware is original and polished.
