The piece reflects the flourishing Rococo Revival style that dominated luxury decorative porcelain production in Germany during the late 19th century.

The vase is executed in glazed hard-paste porcelain with a pierced rim imitating a cracked eggshell. The applied floral decoration is carefully arranged across the body in soft cream, blush pink, green and yellow tones, contrasting with the lively sculptural movement of the cherub figures supporting the composition.

The underside bears the blue crossed-lines mark of the Sitzendorf Porcelain Manufactory together with the impressed model number 354. Under the Voigt ownership period after 1884, Sitzendorf expanded considerably and became internationally recognised for elaborate decorative porcelain including lace figures, floral centrepieces and Rococo-inspired cabinet wares.

Combining sculptural modelling with dense floral ornament, this is a highly decorative Victorian porcelain display piece with strong visual presence.
