A classic spherical shape, exceptional colors and textures bordering on kitsch! This large vase, signed Lamarche Monaco, dates from the 1960s and showcases the marine flora and fauna of the French Riviera! Against a deep aquamarine background, meticulously carved with a gouge, are colorful fish, seaweed, and coral, all hand-painted. Enhanced by fine gold details, this superb antique vase is an explosion of color, highlighting the exquisite detail. It is a highly decorative piece, inviting a journey between dream and reality.
The vase is antique and dates from the 1960s. It is in very good condition. The glaze is colorful and glossy, enhanced with fine gold details. The motifs are both carved and painted. The background ranges from aquamarine to deep green. The vase is signed and numbered on the base. The gilding on the neck is worn, and a small area of missing gilding is visible in the photos.
