This extraordinary vintage sterling silver picture frame stops you cold the moment you see it. Heavy, intricate, and dripping with the kind of handcraft that simply isn't made anymore — this is a serious collector's piece in the beloved tradition of Matilde Poulat, the legendary Taxco silversmith whose work ("Matl") remains among the most coveted Mexican silver ever created. This frame captures everything that made that tradition great.

Constructed entirely of heavy solid sterling silver, the frame is built up with fine wirework and set throughout with natural gemstone cabochons in turquoise, coral, and amethyst — the warm, earthy palette that defines the great Taxco aesthetic. Every detail is hand-wrought. Up close, it only gets better.
