The hand of the potter has imparted organic variation to the form with a wabi-sabi quality of utilitarian authenticity, using a salty glaze which creates movement across the (uneven) surfaces of the bottles in dramatic shifts of color from deep, earthy browns and reds to the neutral tan of the stoneware clay. The bulbous vessels use integrated handles at the top to aid in pouring liquid out of the narrow mouth that would have been corked. One cork is present.
