The carving continues across the front, sides, and back, making this a fully finished piece that can stand confidently in the middle of a room, not only against a wall.
The regional Liégeois craftsmanship is especially evident in the graceful movement of the apron, the scrolling carved decoration, and the elegant balance of the proportions. The table has a wonderful sense of refinement while still retaining the warmth and honesty of solid oak country furniture.
The oak has developed a beautiful patina, with depth, softness, and surface character that only centuries of age can create.
