An exceptional pair of Austrian Victorian ewers dating to circa 1890–1910. These decorative vessels feature richly cast griffin-form handles, Green Man masks, and hand-painted pink roses on a turquoise-to-ivory ground. During the late Victorian era, Austrian workshops became renowned for combining fine porcelain bodies with elaborate metal mounts inspired by Renaissance and Gothic Revival designs. The mythical griffins symbolize guardianship and strength, while the Green Man represents renewal and nature, making these highly decorative statement pieces for Victorian, Grandmillennial, Romantic, Maximalist, Gothic Revival, and European manor interiors.
Dimensions: 15.25" tall; 6.5" wide handle to spout; 5" body diameter.
