Vibrant Chinese polychrome glazed porcelain statue depicting Lu Xing (禄星), the Chinese stellar deity of prosperity, success, and official rank.
He is one of the three prominent stellar deities known collectively as the Sanxing (Three Star Gods) or Fu Lu Shou.
Lu Xing specifically symbolizes societal advancement, salary increases, and career success.
The deity is portrayed as a high-ranking court official wearing a traditional formal headdress (or Wu Sha cap). He holds an ornate Ruyi scepter in his hand, a classical Chinese symbol representing good fortune, authority, and the fulfillment of desires.
This piece is crafted in the traditional Famille Rose or Wucai style palette, featuring intricate floral patterns, dragon motifs on the sleeves, and stylized mountain patterns on the lower hem. Statues with this level of detailed execution and specific base stamps often date from the mid-20th century to the Republic Period.
