A studio pottery bud vase by the American ceramicist Laura Andreson (1902-1999). This vase has a narrow neck and a spherical body and a beige and brown glaze. The underside of the vase is signed.
Laura Andreson graduated from UCLA summa cum laude in 1932 with degree in education. She went on to teach in UCLA's art department, where she founded the ceramics program, from 1933 to 1970. This was the first formal ceramics program of its kind in the United States. Her work was included in exhibitions and collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian Museum of American Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
