A moody and atmospheric mid-century painting that captures a quiet landscape the edge of twilight, executed in oil onto canvas.

A cluster of darkened farm buildings with angular rooftops sit silhouetted against a low, glowing horizon. The land in the foreground feels scarce.

The style is expressive, and form is simplified but atmosphere is deeply felt. The artist prioritises mood over detail, allowing the composition to breathe through shadow and contrast rather than precision.

The colour palette is restrained yet powerful: deep charcoals, smoky greys, and earthy umbers dominate, punctuated by a striking band of warm yellow along the horizon. Subtle hints of burnt red and rust flicker through the foreground, adding depth and a quiet intensity.
