The fine art hand colored woodblock print is created by the artist Robert Bruce Rogers in 1932. It features a waterfront seascape scene in Provincetown, Massachusetts of fisherman drying and rigging their ropes, lines and sails with a view of The Long Point Lighthouse under a beautiful cloud filled blue sky.

The print is pencil hand titled " Drying Rigging " in the lower left corner under the artwork image, and hand pencil signed " R.B. Rogers - Provincetown " in the lower right corner under the artwork image.

Robert Bruce Rogers ( 1907 - 1981 ) was a Girard, Kansas born American Modernist artist, printmaker, filmmaker and arts educator. In the early 1930's Rogers moved to Provincetown Massachusetts, which by that point had become a burgeoning art colony at the furthest tip of Cape Cod. There he studied under the great Modern Master artist Hans Hofmann at his newly founded art school. Rogers produced many landscapes of Provincetown's seaside views and the inspiring geographical surroundings. He exhibited his artworks at The Grand Central Galleries, Provincetown Art Association, and The Society of Independent Artists.

Later he moved to New York City becoming a member of The United American Artists Union, and The Artists Equity Association. He was director Garrett Gallery and Art Classes in New York to 1950 and then moved to Los Angeles, California to write and produce experimental art films. Artworks by Rogers are held in many prestigious private and public collections.

The rare vintage framed fine art woodblock art print measures 17 1/2" W X 16" H X 1 1/8" D, with an image area of 8 1/4" W X 7" H.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass, expertly presented with an acid free conservation cream parchment tone matt board presentation in a Classic Traditional Cassetta style burnished silver leaf, marine navy blue inset panel detail satin eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent condition. The print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and some light visible wear. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. See less
