Being sold as a set of two (x2). … Read more This pair of mid-century French chalet side chairs was manufactured circa 1960. Being sold as a set of two (x2). They feature a highly sculptural and rustic silhouette characterized by an ornate geometric cutout design on the tall backrests. Constructed entirely from solid oak, the chairs showcase thick, blocky multi-angled slab seats and faceted tapered legs reminiscent of traditional Alpine or regional folk escabelle seating. This style heavily emphasizes structural clarity, the raw beauty of natural wood grain, and bold architectural geometries. Undersides show original pencil line work, exposed through-tenon adhesive joinery. Unsigned European rustic and Brutalist furniture in the eye of Charles Dudouyt, Charlotte Perriand, and Maison Regain. Original condition showing minor surface, finish wear commensurate with age. Legs show light staining to bottoms from age. Display, use ready set.
