An original signed and titled print, "Dawn of Awakening," executed in a bold expressionist style. The composition depicts a dynamic human figure rendered in strong tonal contrast with areas of warm amber and deep black, characteristic of relief printmaking techniques such as woodcut or linocut. The work is framed under glass and signed in pencil lower right: Barbara Shannon. A striking and accomplished example of mid-20th century American printmaking.
