This unusual figure appears to be a jackal or mastiff type dog stylized like the ancient figures of the god Bastet. The surface is a brownish faience mottled glaze with a redware or pottery body with large silica chunks, much in the Ancient Egyptian style. The form and surface appear old and is probably an English Egyptian Revival piece from the late 19th or early 20th century.

Condition: Some damages and losses with surface wear.
