Manufactured by the historic Holtgrewe-Vornbrock Furniture Company of St. Louis, Missouri (circa 1895–1910), this piece perfectly bridges late Victorian utility with a clean, rustic Shaker-style silhouette. This dresser retains its incredibly rare, original paper maker's label on the back of the side in the middle. The label on the back details its origins at 10th and Howard Streets. Please review the pictures to see the original handwritten manufacturing information. Other wonderful historical details include the original wooden wheel casters in full working order, the original wood knob pulls secured with period-correct flat-head screws and flush washers, and distinct keyhole escutcheons. The wood exhibits a gorgeous warmly weathered patina, highlighting a storied life. Features beautiful surface character, minor historic water mark on the top towards the middle, water mark on front left just under lower drawer, all within the beautifully aged patina. Both right and left side have a split in the wood. Please see the pictures for details. The paper manufacturer label is partially intact and legible on the back. Top two drawers glide and function as intended, bottom drawer sticks on the lower left side but can be opened easily by pressing up the the bottom of the drawer. All three drawers are clean on the inside and would not require a liner. less
