This lovely-to-look-at cachepot or planter basket was handcrafted in a manner similar to a Tarahumara basket. Ideal for use as a décor accent filled with fresh (or faux) blooms or to stylishly hold a live potted plant. Photos were taken in the round to show all sides and any varying shades and nuances of color and weave. As a décor piece, it displays well on its own but will also complement other baskets you may already own as part of a grouping.

Handcrafted from rattan weavers in a zig zag or herringbone-type of over and under weave. Split bent bamboo circular neck is attached to the basket by rattan lashes for a secure fit. The square bent bamboo ear handles are staked into the sides; their shape provides an added dimension of style and visual interest to the overall look-and-feel of the basket. This beauty measures 9½” wide from handle tip to handle tip; 8” depth x 9” height. The opening measures 6½” wide; interior 7¾” x 7” H/W; weight 6 oz.

This basket was handwoven by an unknown basket artisan in the Philippines sometime in the 1960 to 1970s. In excellent condition with age-appropriate wear. There is one split weaver that is mostly indiscernible toward the bottom of the base (take a peek at all photos, please). Colors are naturally aged rattan hues of tan, wheat and beige.

For a collector of extraordinary baskets, this beauty will be a great add to that collection or the perfect gift for someone who is.
