The … Read more Elegant Italian condiment or preserve jar comprising a faceted crystal glass body with fitted silver-plate lid and matching scoop. The restrained modernist form is elevated by the contrast between the geometric cut crystal and softly curved silvered elements. The circular lid features a turned finial knop and a notch accommodating the accompanying scoop handle. The scoop itself has a gently curved handle with simple linear detailing near the terminal and engraved monogram initials to the bowl. Likely intended for sugar, jam, caviar, or table condiments, the piece reflects refined Italian tableware design of the mid-century period. Good vintage condition with surface scratches, tarnish, oxidation, and wear to the silver plate consistent with age and use. Minor marks and inclusions to the crystal body.
