A distinguished set of six double-handled bouillon cups and five matching saucers in fine white Limoges porcelain, bearing the dual marks of two of the Gilded Age’s most prestigious names: T&V Limoges France (Tressemanes & Vogt, makers) and Ovington Bros., New York (Fifth Avenue retailer to New York’s finest households).
The raised gold decoration is exceptional — laurel wreath medallions at center, trailing foliate swags across the exterior walls, and a refined beaded gold rim band. The scalloped saucers carry a matching gold border of considerable weight and artistry. The double-handled bouillon form, used for elegant between-course service at formal dinners, is rarer than standard cups and speaks directly to the entertaining culture of Gilded Age New York.
