A big and beautiful antique English circa 1890s copper stock pot with brass spout and bronze handles, marked on the base for the Army & Navy Store Co-Operative Society Limited. In excellent condition for its age, no major dents or damage, just the usual small bumps, marks and signs of use you would expect from old copper that’s over 120 years old. Beautiful dovetail construction, sturdy bronze handles held with 4 big rivets. Spout in perfect working order. Professionally restored, polished, tinned and ready to use!
Measures approximately 10.5” across not including handles; 13.75” across with handles; 10.5“ deep. Approximately 1.9mm wall thickness.
Army and Navy Cooperative Society Ltd. was set up in 1871 by a group of officers to buy and sell wholesale. It became a large department store that supplied British Military Officers with goods to use on campaigns and in the field.
