Likely architectural trim originating from an English mansion house or possibly from an over-sized cupboard. During the 1950s - 60s, the pair were incorporated into table lamps for use in a Sharon, Connecticut residence. Currently, the appurtenances of the lamps have been removed and the wire entry points to the wooden bases lamp have been filled with wooden plugs (see photos). Portions of the original darkened varnish have been newly stripped exposing wood grain on the figures. A light coat of shellac has been applied. Excellent throughout. Some paint loss to bases.
