Below the top surface which is painted in visible layers of amber-brown, the swelled apron is pigmented further by washes of red and white in that “scraped” effect so desirable of Gustavian antiques. The frontality of the wide, scrolled legs (imitating the silhouette of Louis XV cabriole legs) makes this piece ideal for a console or center table to appreciate the unique, hand-crafted qualities in the round. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve every feature. Please view the detailed images for the current condition.
