Salvador Dali hand colored lithograph engraving, "Calliope" or "Deese de L'Eloquence" from the Nine Muses suite, circa 1971. Features Calliope, the Muse of epic poetry and eloquence in Greek mythology, holding a scroll near a classical column.
Finely framed in elaborate gilt wood. Unfortunately the glass has a prominent scratch. The print is in excellent condition.
Frame measures 38" x 42", image measures approximately 13" x 15"
Limited edition 75/95 in Roman numerals and signature in pencil under image. Dali embossed publisher's stamp at lower left corner.
Does not have appraisal or COA paperwork, but the item is under consignment and we have an IRS form 8283 signed by the donor stating that the artwork was originally purchased in March 2005 from Park West for $14,095.00. The form also contains a Declaration of Appraiser signed by art appraiser Wendy Wells Jackson on July 6, 2017 with a market value of $18,000.
