Republic Era, circa 1920-1930. … Read more This is a beautiful Antique Chinese 6” Round Cinnabar & Brass Lacquer Box In Mint Condition. Republic Era, circa 1920-1930. It has a hand carved Peony pattern on the lid which is the “King of Flowers”. In Chinese mythology, these exquisite blooms are believed to represent wealth, prosperity, and honor. They are also associated with love, romance, and a happy marriage, which makes this a terrific wedding or anniversary gift. It has a sturdy brass inner lid and body rim and a round footed brass rim. It also has an immaculate black lacquer interior and bottom (small amount of tag residue can be softened and removed with water. Hand carved rosewood stand included. See less
