Arne Jacobsen was one of the most influential architects and designers of the 20th century, a master of Danish Modernism whose elegant and functional aesthetic continues to shape design today. Best known internationally for his iconic furniture designs—the Egg chair, the Swan chair, and the Series 7 chair—Jacobsen was also responsible for landmark buildings including the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen and St. Catherine's College, Oxford. This exhibition poster features a drawing of Skovshoved Gas Station (1937), one of his early architectural masterpieces. Published in connection with the Arne Jacobsen retrospective at Louisiana in 2002, on the occasion of the architect's 100th birthday, the exhibition paid tribute to his modernist design and furniture art.
