This is a gorgeous George III Writing Bureau Desk would excentuate a period era interior living room or office home settings. Circa 1780.
The gorgeous Oak fall front can be dropped to expose the desk work top, and interior.
The desk is supported by two pull out slats with metal button handles, that can be extended to hold the desk front open.
There is a lock to the front desk and drawers but there is no key present.
The striking interior comprises of nine excellently carved small drawers, with eight additional pigeon holes and a central hidden door, perfect for storing documents, papers, books or memorabilia.
The front of the bureau has a smaller upper drawers, and three wonderful large spacious graduating drawers.
All of the drawers are finished with gorgeous antique swan brass drop handles.
This handsome bureau stands proudly on 4 solid figured feet.
The bureau desk has a wonderful Oak patination that adds a country character to the home decor.
This exquisite Georgian Writing Bureau is rich in history and would be a statement piece in the home.
Overall, this writing bureau is in great antique condition, with general signs of use and historical veneer wear and scratched as to be expected from years of historical use (see photographs).
There are historical cracks to the bureau desk front, and either side of the bureau, but it is still fully functionable (see photographs).
Two of the bureau interior small drawers can be pushed in slightly further than originally created, and one drawer to the right protrudes more than expected (see photograph).
There are historical signs of gluing to the lower left foot, but this has no functional affect (see photograph).
There is a historical sign of wood filler to the bureau front (see photograph).
The pull out slats can be pulled all the way out from the desk, as the stops have been historically removed.
