Giuseppe Terragni (1904–1943) was one of the most important pioneers of Italian Rationalism. Inspired by his design principles, Rafael Moneo designed the Monza chair for BD (Barcelona Design). (Information from BD Editiones de Diseño, 2002). The chair has been professionally refinished in black lacquer and still retains its original beige velvet upholstery.
