An antique Federal or Regency style giltwood convex mirror crowned with a carved eagle, its wings outstretched above a laurel motif—an enduring symbol drawn from early American design.
The circular frame is punctuated by evenly spaced spheres, a classic “bullseye” detail adding rhythm to the form. The convex glass subtly distorts and reflects the surrounding space, creating movement and light rather than a direct reflection. The gilt finish has softened over time, developing a patina that gives the piece depth and warmth without feeling overly polished.
Well suited for an entry, above a chest or fireplace mantel, or layered into a traditional gallery wall, it brings a sense of structure and historical reference while remaining highly decorative.
