Aron Frogge Pottery Company History
Aron Frogge is a contemporary American ceramic artist whose work is closely associated with the Raku firing technique, producing one-of-a-kind pottery pieces that reflect the natural forms and colors of the Arizona landscape .
Early Life and Education
Aron Frogge was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was exposed to art from an early age through her artist mother WorthPoint. She later studied ceramics, art history, fiber art, and interior design, earning a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from the College of Architecture at Arizona State University in 1980 .
Career in Design and Return to Art
For several years, Frogge worked in the Midwest designing retail interiors. In 1990, she returned to her native Arizona and dedicated herself fully to her art WorthPoint. Her inspiration comes from the mountains, rock formations, desert earth, and evening sky of the region, which she translates into hand-formed ceramic works .
Artistic Style and Techniques
Frogge’s pottery is known for its organic, sculptural forms and Raku firing process, in which pieces are removed from the kiln while still glowing and immersed in combustible materials to create metallic and iridescent finishes WorthPoint. Each piece is unique, reflecting the spontaneity and unpredictability of Raku firing.
