Double sided screen with hinges and edges in polished stainless stees with brass finish. A striking double-sided folding screen designed by Christian Lacroix for Roche Bobois, combining theatrical imagery, eclectic historic references, and exuberant decorative sensibility characteristic of the celebrated French couturier and design house collaboration. Composed of 6 hinged panels with slender brass-toned frames, the screen presents two dramatically contrasting panoramic scenes. One side depicts an evocative monochromatic architectural fantasy inspired by classical ruins (probably Arles), archaeological fragments, obelisks, and romanticized landscapes rendered in the manner of 18th-century engravings. The opposing side transforms into a lush fantastical garden (probably France, outside Paris) populated with exotic flora, palm trees, architectural follies, and surreal tropical imagery in layered jewel-like tones. The juxtaposition between the neoclassical monochrome vista and the vibrant dreamlike botanical composition exemplifies Christian Lacroix’s signature visual language — richly narrative, highly ornamental, and intentionally cinematic. Equal parts functional divider and monumental decorative artwork, the piece operates as a sculptural statement within an interior. Produced by Roche Bobois, the screen reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to collaborations with leading figures in fashion, art, and contemporary design. In very good overall condition with light wear consistent with age and use. Colors remain very vivid and well preserved. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
