Originally introduced in 1954, Florence Knoll’s lounge collection became an icon of American modernism, celebrated for its clean architectural lines balanced with exceptional comfort. This later “Relaxed” version softens the original formal silhouette with deeper proportions and more generous cushioning, creating a warmer, more livable feel while maintaining the disciplined geometry that defines Knoll design. Expertly constructed with a solid internal frame, tailored tufted cushions, and floating steel base, the chair embodies the timeless refinement associated with Knoll. We also have the matching two-seater sofa available separately. There is minimal wear to the arms consistent with age and use. The chair presents beautifully as-is with a desirable vintage patina or could easily be reupholstered to suit a new interior. The polished steel floating base is in excellent condition.
