Sculptural dry bar cabinet by American designer Dakota Jackson, retaining its original gold foil studio label ("Dakota Jackson • Engineered Design • USA") affixed to the interior.
The upper case is finished in high-gloss lacquered maple veneer arranged in a diagonal parquetry pattern, with a central recessed panel of cream parchment framed by a carved giltwood surround.
The frame features stylized wave motifs accented with small inlaid dots in red, blue, yellow, and green enamel — a signature decorative gesture combining Art Deco revival and postmodern sensibilities. The cabinet rests on dramatically splayed, lacquered mahogany legs in deep red.
Two upper doors and two lower doors with brass hinges open to fitted interior storage suitable for bar service, glassware, and bottles.
Dakota Jackson founded his eponymous studio in New York in 1977 and is recognized as a leading figure in American postmodern and Art Deco revival furniture design. His work is held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cooper Hewitt, and the Brooklyn Museum.
