The design features a hand-drawn, folk-art-inspired whimsical fish motif on a warm terracotta clay body. It represents a rare, earlier piece from her artistic career. Her work and illustrations are usually snapshots from moments in her life, often drawing inspiration from her rural surroundings and nature.

Amy Sabrina (1956–2013) was a nationally recognized, listed American ceramic artist and potter based in Dalbo, Minnesota.

Known primarily for her whimsical, hand-painted earthenware and functional pottery, her work is archived and collected by several major institutions, including the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and the Northern Clay Center. She also received prestigious fellowships from both the McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board. See less
