Antique 1925 Hubley #312 Cast Iron, Bronze-Clad Bookend in Bas-Relief Depicting the Legend of Saint George Slaying the Dragon. Here Saint George, suited in armor and mounted upon his rearing steed, thrusts his lance into the dragon. This pair of bronze-clad bookends bring a handsome Gothic Revival sensibility to a desk, office or bookshelf. The casting is sharp with amazing detail and a deep, naturally aged patina. Hubley Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer famed for cast-iron toys, bookends, and doorstops.
