This elegant Louis XVI-style desk is crafted from walnut with boxwood trim, embellished with a herringbone veneer that creates refined color contrasts thanks to the alternating grain. The interior is oak, and the drawers feature handmade dovetails.
The rectangular top is covered in warm biscuit-colored leather, embossed with a gold Greek key motif along the edges, within a wooden frame. It features two side drawers with bronze knobs and two practical pull-out shelves on each side, also covered in leather, which allow for an additional 28 cm of storage space on each side.
This 19th-century French bureau plat rests on four slender, truncated pyramid legs topped with bronze footrests, in typical Louis XVI style.
This antique center desk's compact dimensions make it extremely versatile. It doesn't need to be placed against a wall; it can even be placed in the middle of a room, as the back features the same decorative finish as the front. Small armchairs for those sitting at the table are often placed at the back of the piece.
This elegant antique French piece comes from a private collection in Milan and is in good condition, with previous restorations and minimal signs of wear consistent with its 19th-century origin. See less
