The houses’ architecture is intricately recreated in various types of wood inlay with brass detailing down to individual house address numbers! Maker’s mark on the bottom and in the original plastic. Couroc of Monterey, founded in 1948, produced a line of decorative items made of a proprietary phenolic resin material that resembled ebony wood and was water, burn, stain, and detergent resistant. Its unique designs were created by members of Monterey Bay’s famous art colony. Featuring hand inlaid motifs made of natural materials such as shells, coins, brass, and wood veneers insured that no two items were exactly the same.
