This is a stunning framed Motawi Tileworks "Cardinals Consorting" tile. The oak frame is by Dard Hunter Studios.
Motawi’s Charley Harper art tiles translate the beloved artist’s bold, graphic style into richly detailed ceramic form. Each design celebrates Harper’s signature blend of modern geometry, mid-century charm, and nature’s whimsy—birds, critters, and forests distilled into pure, joyful shape and color. This particular tile is quite rare as it has been discontinued for a number of years.
The tile is presented in an oak frame by Dard Hunter Studios, founded in 1994 by Dard Hunter III and continuing the legacy of his grandfather, Dard Hunter Sr., an iconic figure in the American Arts & Crafts movement. Operating from the historic Mountain House in Chillicothe, Ohio, the studio specializes in meticulously crafted frames made from quarter sawn White Oak.
