This beautiful silver-plated Monteith pedestal bowl by F.B. Rogers Silver Co., modeled after traditional 17th-century English Monteith forms originally designed for chilling stemware in ice water during formal entertaining.
The piece features a dramatic scalloped rim, pierced openwork detailing, repoussé scrolling, acanthus leaf motifs, drop-ring side handles, and a ribbed lower body resting on a gadrooned pedestal foot.
Likely dating to the mid-to-late 20th century, the bowl embodies Victorian Revival styling and makes an elegant centerpiece or decorative tabletop accent within traditional, old-world, and formal interiors.
