Traveling Man Treasures is selling this stunning antique pair of French Grand Tour patinated bronze and yellow Sienna marble Tazze (pedestal urns) dating from the 19th century (c. 1830–1870). Both pieces are in fine overall condition with minimal wear and ready to display.
The finely cast patinated bronze shallow bowls feature decorative egg & dart scrolled rims and neoclassical scrolling dual handles. The bowls rest upon pillars crafted from vivid yellow Sienna marble characterized by fine dark veining; their faces adorned with ribbon tied laurel bronze mounts, all resting atop stepped black patinated bronze bases with ornamental foliate moldings.
These ornamental urns were highly popular decorative items during the 19th-century Grand Tour era, often placed symmetrically as garnitures on fireplace mantels or commodes.
