A finely cast pewter bowl and matching spoon by Cipolla of Lombardia, Italy, one of the most collected names in late 20th century Italian pewter, known for richly modeled naturalistic forms.
The bowl is shaped as a stylized flower of eight scallop-shell petals radiating from a smooth central well, each shell deeply ribbed and separated by small berry-and-leaf details. The accompanying spoon continues the theme: a scallop-shell bowl with a slender, hand-modeled twig handle. Beautifully tactile pieces with real heft. The set weighs 1.5 lbs, the kind of substantial cast weight that distinguishes serious Italian pewter from lighter reproductions.
Signed on the underside "CIPOLLA PEWTER 95%" with the maker's sunburst hallmark and "ETAIN 95%" (the 95% tin content is the high end of pewter quality, prized for its bright cast and durability). Original "Made in Italy" foil label still intact.
