The tapered legs, made of dark-stained wood, provide a stylish contrast to the chenille upholstery; the visible wooden bracket at the back structurally connects the upholstered body and frame while remaining clearly legible as a distinct element. Design Context: The entire design language is contained within the upholstered body; the frame recedes into the background thanks to the slender, tapered legs. The shell shape of the backrest encloses the sitter laterally without completely enclosing the volume – the seat and back remain visible as separate surfaces. The wooden bracket at the back lends the construction a legible tectonic structure and keeps the layering of materials open. When paired with antique pieces, the chair adopts a restrained stance due to its light upholstery tone. The texture of the chenille upholstery evokes matte, aged surfaces; the dark-stained frame echoes the tones of antique walnut woods.
