Wegner in the 1950s, executed in richly figured bangkok teakwood with original patinated black leather upholstery. An exceptional example of wegner’s sculptural approach to danish modern seating, the ch-34 is distinguished by its elegant tapered frame, floating arm structure, and beautifully integrated joinery details. This example retains its original finish and upholstery, both presenting in remarkable vintage condition. The bangkok teak has developed an extraordinary warm, luminous patina over decades of careful use, accentuating the grain and refined organic contours of the frame. The original black leather shows equally desirable age and character, with a soft hand and nuanced wear that speaks to authenticity and preservation rather than restoration. Particularly notable are the striking contrast details where the leather wraps and terminates at the arm joints, highlighting wegner’s masterful balance of craftsmanship and form.
