Its free-flowing form unfolds in volutes like supple drapery. The shape of the neck of this ceramic piece evokes the corolla of a flower. The glaze is contrasting: a typically Elchinger powdery black on the exterior, and a rich, nuanced, and deep red on the interior. The cream-colored glazed rim enhances the piece.
