A luminous and atmospheric signed color lithograph titled Phenomena Open Light by celebrated American abstract expressionist Paul Jenkins, circa 1973. Executed in Jenkins’ unmistakable visual language of flowing pigment, translucent veils of color, and sweeping gestural arcs, the composition embodies the artist’s renowned “Phenomena” series, for which he achieved international acclaim during the second half of the 20th century.

The work features richly layered fields of indigo, ultramarine, crimson, black, and soft ivory tones that appear suspended in motion across the paper. Jenkins was known for abandoning conventional brushwork in favor of pouring and directing liquid pigment with an ivory knife, allowing gravity and controlled movement to shape the final composition. The result is both spontaneous and deeply meditative, balancing energy with restraint.

Pencil signed in the lower right by the artist.
