A French armchair is executed in the opulent style of Francois Linke, featuring a shaped backrest and seat upholstered in brown leather secured with brass nailhead trim. The wooden frame is embellished with ormolu mounts, foliate scrolls at the arm terminals, and a rocaille motif on the apron. The piece is supported on four cabriole legs, each decorated with acanthus-cast mounts at the knees and terminating in heavy gilt-bronze sabots in the shape of animal paws. This fauteuil exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and historical revivalism of the French Belle Epoque period.
