A stunning large beer stein/tankard
Salt glaze stoneware with polychrome decoration in high relief
A beutiful and very detailed front scene, named "Schwere Wahl!" (Tough Choice), depicting a woman with two suitors
The volume is stamped upfront close to the rim - 3 L
At the bottom a mark TP identifies the maker - Johann Peter Thewald
The model number 1088 is also stamped
Circa 1887-1920's, Germany
Measurements: Approx. 13.6" high x 7.2" across with handle x 5.7" base diameter
