Description:
A luminous L.E. Smith “Comet in the Stars” opalescent lead crystal bowl with an iridescent finish and richly detailed pressed glass pattern. The design combines starburst, fan, diamond, and geometric motifs with a dramatic scalloped sawtooth rim, creating wonderful texture and light play from every angle.

The surface has a soft rainbow sheen with flashes of pink, blue, green, and gold, making it a beautiful decorative accent for a vanity, console, bar cabinet, coffee table, or collected glass display.

This is a vintage L.E. Smith revival-style iridescent glass bowl in the “Comet in the Stars” pattern, based on an earlier U.S. Glass design. The pattern appears in the L.E. Smith 1988 catalog as pattern #1515, giving the piece a nice collectible history while still being best described as late 20th century vintage rather than true mid-century.
