Lovely Japanese 4-panel painted silk Byobu (folding screen) "Tit and Chrysanthemums", signed and sealed by artist. Watercolor and ink on silk. Silk brocade border. Lacquered brown wood frame with beautifully engraved copper corners, plaques and medallions. Paper on back. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1970-1980s. Nearly excellent condition - no damage to the painting, minor age wear overall, two small repairs on paper back, strong hinges, clean. This screen changes color of the background depending on light and angle. In direct light it looks gold, in natural light it has more beige. Please look at the pictures.
